Two-time Olympian and World Championship team member Doris Fuchs-Brause’s career was a roller coaster of success and disappointment. Following her two trips to the Olympic Games in 1956 and 1960, Fuchs-Brause was twice controversially denied a spot on the team for the next two Olympiads despite qualification placings of fifth and sixth, respectively. Despite her letdown, Fuchs-Brause medaled at the Pan American Games and the National AAU Championships.
