A member of the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame’s inaugural class, Frank Cuminsky — much like in his decorated career — led the way for gymnasts after him. Despite World War II interrupting his career, Cumiskey still managed to compete in three Olympics and won 24 national medals. Following his competitive career, Cumiskey became an AAU administrator and was President of the National Gymnastics Judges Association. For his career’s success, Sports Illustrated named Cumiskey as one of New Jersey’s “50 Greatest Sports Figures of the 20th Century.”
