ZURICH, Switzerland (November 5, 2023) – The Olympian duo of Jade Carey (Phoenix, Ariz./Oregon State University) and Yul Moldauer (Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics) won U.S. team gold Sunday at the 2023 Swiss Cup in Zurich.

After winning this event with Addison Fatta (Wrightsville, Pa./Prestige Gymnastics) in 2022, Moldauer returned to Switzerland with Carey to repeat as team champion. The pair scored an overall 29.050 in the final round ahead of the Japanese duo of Chiaki Hatakeda and Kazuma Kaya in second (28.325). Julia Soares and Patrick Sampaio of Brazil were third (27.350) after winning against the Italian pair of Manila Esposito and Yumin Abbadini (26.350) in the Small Final.

Carey and Moldauer led all competitors throughout the competition, topping the standings through Round 1 (28.950) and Round 2 (56.250), and then in Semifinals (27.600), when scores reset, to advance to the Grand Final. Scores reset again in the final round, where the top two teams went head-to-head. The U.S. pair competed on vault and parallel bars in the first rotation, floor and horizontal bar in the second rotation, and on uneven bars and floor in the third rotation. They competed again on vault and parallel bars for the Grand Final against Japan.
