SANTIAGO, Chile (November 3, 2023) – Evita Griskenas (Orland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center) and the Senior National Group collected three more bronze medals on Day 3 of rhythmic competition, while all U.S. trampoline athletes advanced to finals Friday afternoon at the Pan American Games.

All podium for rhythmic

After claiming qualifying to the 2024 Olympic Games and winning all-around silver on Thursday, Griskenas added two more bronze medals to her Pan Am resume Friday, placing third in both the hoop (31.950) and ball (31.500) finals to land on the podium. Lili Mizuno (Northbrook, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center) also qualified to each final, landing fourth (30.650) on hoop and fifth (30.000) on ball. The Brazilian pair of Maria Eduarda Alexandre and Barbara Domingos were first on hoop (32.700) and ball (33.000), respectively.

In the group five hoops final, Izzy Connor (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.), Gergana Petkova (Barrington, Ill.), Katrine Sakhnov (Glencoe, Ill.), Karolina Saverino (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) and Hana Starkman (Deerfield, Ill.) claimed bronze with a 30.700. Brazil was first with a 35.850 and Mexico second with a 34.150.

Trampoline finals on lock

Following a packed day of trampoline qualifications, American trampolinists earned their spot in each of Saturday’s finals. The U.S. pairs of Nicole Ahsinger (Lafayette, La./Trampoline and Tumbling Express) and Jessica Stevens (Ellicott City, Md./Fairland Gymnastics), and Ruben Padilla (Bluffdale, Utah/Wasatch Trampoline & Tumbling) and Aliaksei Shostak (Lafayette, La./Trampoline and Tumbling Express) claimed the top qualifying spots in both women’s (48.530) and men’s (51.180) synchronized trampoline qualifications.

In individual competition, Ahsinger qualified in second (53.820) and Stevens fifth (53.070) to the women’s final. On the men’s side, Shostak qualified in second with a 58.370 and Padilla took the third qualifying spot with a 58.040. Watch a replay of women’s qualifications.

Gymnastics competition at the 2023 Pan American Games conclude Saturday, November 4 with the rhythmic clubs, ribbon, and three ribbons and two balls finals, and the individual and synchro trampoline finals. The action begins at 9 a.m. ET and will stream live on the Panam Sports Channel.
