Hoffman is the daughter of Richard and Helen Hoffman. She has a sister Emma, who is also a gymnast. Hoffman would one day like to become a magazine editor. Kayla has signed a letter of intent to compete for the University of Alabama.

How did you get involved in gymnastics: My mom did gymnastics when she was young. She initially put me in classes, but I was the one who really wanted to be on the team.
Favorite thing about gymnastics: My favorite thing about gymnastics is hitting a skill perfectly. It's the best feeling!
What are your goals for gymnastics?: My goal for gymnastics is to travel the world doing international competitions and to make my country proud. GO USA!
