INDIANAPOLIS, March 26, 2012 – Butch Zunich of Champaign, Ill., has been named as a judge for men’s gymnastics at the 2012 Olympic Games, July 27-Aug. 12, in London, England, following an invitation from the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).

Zunich was a judge for both the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, as well as nine World Championships (1992, 1994, 1997, 2001-02, 2006-07, 2009 and 2011). Zunich, who was a gymnast at the University of Illinois – Champaign, earned his certification as a FIG judge in 1985.

Based in Indianapolis, USA Gymnastics is the national governing body for gymnastics in the United States. Its mission is to encourage participation and the pursuit of excellence in the sport.
