LISBON, Portugal, April 6, 2014 – Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, won the ball silver and hoop bronze medals at the Lisbon (Portugal) International Tournament, which wrapped up today.

Zeng competed in three event finals. Her silver medal came in the ball final, where she earned a 15.300. Russia’s Olesya Petrova was first with 15.750, and the bronze went to Bulgaria’s Boryana Kaleyn at 15.100. In hoop, Zeng’s bronze came via a 15.100. The gold went to Azerbaijan’s Zhala Piriyeva with 15.600, and the silver was earned by Belarus’ Mariya Trubach with 15.250. Ribbon was Zeng’s third final, where she finished in fifth place (14.650). Piriyeva was first at 15.550, followed by Trubach (15.400) and Russia’s Veronika Poliakova (15.150).

Camilla Feeley of Lincolnshire, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, just missed the medals podium in the clubs final, finishing fourth (14.850). Trubach was first at 15.500, with Bulgaria’s Erika Zafirova in second (15.350) and Petrova in third (15.200).

Jazzy Kerber of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, performed in two of the event finals. For hoop, Kerber finished seventh with 16.750. Belarus’ Melitina Staniouta won the title at 18.050, with Russia’s Maria Titova in second at 17.700 and Korea’s Son Yeon Jae in third with 17.500. Kerber was eighth in the clubs final, posting a 16.100. Son won the event’s title at 17.450. Russia’s Dina Averina took second place (17.250 and Spain’s Carolina Rodriguez was third (17.150). Son also won the ribbon and ball titles.
