2016 Olympic Team member and reigning U.S. champion Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, placed fifth in the clubs and ribbon finals at the 2016 Kazan (Russia) World Cup over the weekend. Zeng also finished sixth in the in the hoop final and 11th in the all-around competition. The USA’s Camilla Feeley of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics, finished 18th in the all-around standings.

In the clubs final, Zeng posted a 18.050 for fifth. Russia’s Margarita Mamun took top honors with a 19.150, followed by teammate Aleksandra Soldatova in second (18.950). Melitina Staniouta of Belarus placed third with a 18.800.

Zeng finished fifth in the ribbon final posting a 17.100. Mamun earned the gold (19.200), followed by Staniouta (18.550), and Korea’s Jae Yeon Son (18.500).

Zeng placed sixth in the hoop final earning a 17.900. Russia’s Yana Kudryavtseva finished first with a 19.200. Son won silver (18.600), and Mamun finished third (18.500).

In the all-around, Zeng’ s 70.900 landed her in 11th, and Feeley’s total of 68.100 put her 18th. Zeng’s event scores were: 18.100, hoop; 16.950, ball; 18.100, clubs; and 17.750, ribbon. Feeley’s event scores were: 17.100, ribbon; 17.400, ball; 17.250, clubs; and 16.350, ribbon.
