INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 8, 2017 – Three-time U.S. champion Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, Evita Griskenas of Orland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, and the U.S. rhythmic group are scheduled to participate in this weekend’s Kazan (Russia) World Challenge Cup. Competition begins Friday with two days of qualifications. The finals are scheduled for Sunday.

The event is the final International Gymnastics Federation World Cup event for rhythmic gymnastics prior to the 2017 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, scheduled for Aug. 30-Sept. 3 in Pesaro, Italy.

The U.S. group, which trains at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, consists of Dasha Baltovick of Highland Park, Ill.; Natalie Bourand of Burr Ridge, Ill.; Connie Du of Deerfield, Ill.; Yelyzaveta Merenzon of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; Nicole Sladkov of Vernon Hills, Ill.; and Kristina Sobolevskaya of Deerfield, Ill.
