PESARO, Italy, April 13, 2015 – 2014 Youth Olympic Games all-around bronze medalist Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, finished seventh in the ribbon final this weekend at the 2015 Pesaro World Cup in Pesaro, Italy.

Zeng posted a 16.950 for seventh in a competitive final that featured Russia’s Yana Kudryavtseva, Ukraine’s Ganna Rizatdinova, and Belarus’ Melitina Staniouta, who finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in ribbon at last year’s World Championships. Zeng is competing in her first season as a senior athlete.

In the all-around competition, Zeng finished 11th, posting scores of 17.000 or better on every apparatus. Her individual event scores were: 17.000, hoop; 17.050, ball; 17.150, clubs; and 17.200, ribbon.

The U.S. senior group finished 16th in the all-around standings with a 29.350 total. Members of the senior rhythmic group, who train at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, are Kiana Eide of Northbrook, Ill.; Alisa Kano of Glencoe, Ill.; Natalie McGiffert of Northbrook, Ill.; Monica Rokhman of Northbrook, Ill.; Jennifer Rokhman of Northbrook, Ill.; and Kristen Shaldybin of Chicago.

Two-time World all-around finalist Jazzy Kerber of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, was scheduled to compete but withdraw due to illness.

The U.S.’s Camila Feeley of Lincolnshire, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, and Serena Lu of Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora, participated in the Senior International Tournament held in conjunction with the World Cup in Pesaro. Feeley tied for third in hoop (17.050). Lu won the bronze in ribbon (17.300) and finished tied for fourth in ball, posting a 16.500. The duo combined for sixth in the team standings.
