KAZAN, Russia, Aug. 24, 2015 – Fresh off an impressive gold medal sweep at the 2015 Pan Am Games, Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, finished 10th at the Kazan World Cup this weekend in Kazan, Russia. She also qualified to the ball final where she finished eighth. The USA’s Jazzy Kerber of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, also competed, finishing 30th in the all-around.

Zeng posted scores of 17.350, hoop; 17.400, ball; 16.900, clubs; and 17.100, ribbon, to finish 10th in the all-around with a 68.750. The impressive field included both the reigning World silver medalist, Russia’s Margarita Mamun, who finished first with a 75.550, and reigning World all-around champion Yana Kudryavtseva of Russia, who took second with a 75.250. Russia’s Aleksandra Soldatova finished third, totaling 74.300.

In the ball final, Zeng tallied 15.250 for eighth. Mamun took the gold with a 19.050, followed by Soldatova (18.450) and Belarus’ Melitina Staniouta (18.100).

Kerber earned a 63.400 in the all-around, after scores of 16.750, hoop; 16.100, ball; 14.900, clubs; and 15.850, ribbon.
