INDIANAPOLIS, May 12, 2017 – Team USA will participate in two International Gymnastics Federation World Challenger Cup events this weekend in Koper, Slovenia, and Portimao, Portugal. Fans in the U.S. will be able to watch the competition from Koper online through NBCSports, Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. ET. The Portimao World Cup will air live on USA Gymnastics’ YouTube channel at 10 a.m. ET on Sunday.

In Koper, three men’s national team members will participate: 2016 Olympic alternate Donnell Whittenburg of Baltimore, Md./U.S. Olympic Training Center, Eddie Penev of Penfield, N.Y./U.S. Olympic Training Center, and Donothan Bailey of Mission Viejo, Calif./U.S. Olympic Training Center. Whittenburg (floor, still rings, vault, and parallel bars) and Penev (floor, pommel horse, vault and high bar) will participate in four events, while Bailey will compete on three (pommel horse, still rings, and parallel bars).

Competition begins at 5 a.m. ET on Friday with qualification in floor exercise, pommel horse and still rings. Qualifications wrap up starting at 11 a.m. ET. Finals are scheduled for 10 a.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday.

Nastasya Generalova, Los Angeles/California Rhythms, Serena Lu, Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora, and the U.S. senior group will represent the U.S. in Portimao. The group, which trains at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, consists of Dasha Baltovick of Highland Park, Ill.; Natalie Bourand of Burr Ridge, Ill.; Ugne Dragunas of Darien, Ill.; Connie Du of Deerfield, Ill.; Yelyzaveta Merenzon of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; Nicole Sladkov of Vernon Hills, Ill.; and Kristina Sobolevskaya of Deerfield, Ill.

Qualifications are scheduled for Friday and Saturday with finals taking place on Sunday at 10 a.m. ET.
