KATY, Texas (October 19, 2022) – Eleven of the top gymnasts in the U.S. will assemble for Women’s World Team Selection Camp October 20-23 in Katy, Texas. In-camp competitions on Friday and Saturday will help determine U.S. representation for the upcoming World Championships, which are set to begin October 29 in Liverpool, England.

Gymnasts will rotate in two groups Friday, beginning at 7 p.m. ET. Shilese Jones, Skye Blakely, Nola Matthews, Jordan Chiles and Addison Fatta will start on vault, while Jade Carey, Amelia Disidore, Marissa Neal, Lexi Zeiss and Leanne Wong are up first on floor exercise. On Saturday, gymnasts may show up to two supplementary events, which will be determined in conference with the Athlete Selection Committee.

The top-scoring all-around gymnast at the conclusion of Friday’s competition will earn automatic selection to the six-person roster that will travel to England. The remaining gymnasts will be named by the selection committee Saturday evening following Day 2 of competition.

Only five gymnasts will ultimately compete at World Championships, and the sixth individual will be named the traveling replacement athlete. The final U.S. lineup will be announced no later than 24 hours before the start of qualifications.
