GENEVA, Switzerland, July 6, 2021 – U.S. acrobats Emily Davis and Aubrey Rosilier, both of San Antonio, Texas/Acrobatic Gymnastics of San Antonio, finished second behind Portugal’s Rita Ferreira and Ana Teixeira to claim the silver medal in women’s pair at last week’s 2021 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships at Vernets Sports Center in Geneva, Switzerland.

Davis and Rosilier posted a 28.580 in the event final to edge third-place Diana Korotaeva and Amina Omari of Russia (28.520) by less than a tenth of a point, giving the U.S. team its highest finish of the competition. The Portuguese pair claimed the top spot with a 29.120. Davis and Rosilier qualified in second behind strong balance (27.660) and dynamic (26.960) performances and the field’s top showing in the combined competition with a 28.430.

The U.S. also qualified acrobats to the men’s pair and women’s group finals. Angel Felix of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Braiden McDougall of Riverside, Calif., both of Realis Gymnastics Academy, took sixth in the men’s pair division with a 28.190 after qualifying in ninth. Russia’s Timofei Ivanov and Maksim Karavaev claimed the men’s pair title with a 29.790.

The U.S. women’s trio from WestCoast Training Center – comprised of Victoria Blante of Hayward, Calif., Eily Corbett of Danville, Calif., and Cassidy Cu of Castro Valley, Calif. – also finished sixth. The group’s 82.800 following their balance, dynamic and combined performances landed them ninth in qualifying, just ahead of teammates Elanor Chang of Columbia, Md., Grace Vonder Haar of Columbia, Md., and Kayla Vonder Haar of Emperial, Mo., who were 10th with an 80.990. Blante, Corbett and Cu posted a 27.870 in the event final, while Russia’s Daria Chebulanka, Sofia Polishchuk and Daria Tikhomirova led the way with a 30.240.

The U.S. finished sixth in the team competition with 42 points. Russia (60), Belgium (54) and Kazakhstan (51) claimed the top three team spots.
