HUNTSVILLE, Texas, May 30, 2014 – The U.S. Women’s National Team camp for June, which will be led by National Team Coordinator Martha Karolyi, begins on Monday, June 2, at the USA Gymnastics National Team Training Center at the Karolyi Ranch, an official U.S. Olympic training site, near Huntsville, Texas.

2013 World team members Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/ World Champions Centre, Kyla Ross of Aliso Viejo, Calif./Gym-Max and Brenna Dowell of Odessa, Mo./Great American Gymnastics Express, are scheduled to attend. Gabrielle Douglas of Virginia Beach, Va./Chow’s Gymnastics and Dance, will attend her first camp since winning two gold medals at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The focus of the five-day camp is preparing for upcoming competitions, including the Secret U.S. Classic (Hoffman Estates, Ill., Aug. 2), the P&G Gymnastics Championships (Pittsburgh, Pa., Aug. 21-24), the Senior Pan American Championships (Toronto, Canada, Aug. 29-Sept. 1), and the World Championships (Nanning, China, Oct. 3-12). Athletes are finalizing routine construction, including new skills and connections, in compliance with the new International Gymnastics Federation rules. They will go through verification with half routine sets and the traditional physical abilities testing.
