GUIMARAES, Portugal (September 22, 2024) – Mariam Tutberidze (Owings Mills, Md.), Grace Vonder Haar (Laurel, Md.) and Kayla Vonder Haar (Laurel, Md.) of Emilia’s Acro Gymnastics and Cheer won bronze Sunday to conclude action at the 2024 Acrobatic World Championships.
The American group slotted in for third place with a score of 28.350, finishing behind Lauren Verbrugghe, Sofie Jaeken and Mirte Vercauteren of Belgium in first (29.570) and Ori Dekel, Sivan Gerber and Roni Rotman of Israel in second (28.440). It was the second medal of the championships for the trio after winning silver in group dynamic on Saturday. They also competed Sunday in the combined final, just missing medal position in fourth (28.570).
The women’s duo of Mo Arthur (Rolla, Mo./Mid America Acro Tumbling) and Ariana Katsov (Owensville, Mo./Mid America Acro Tumbling) competed in the pairs balance final on Sunday, notching a seventh-place finish with a score of 27.230. The Belgian pair of Silke Macharis and Maysae Bouhouch won balance gold with a 28.880.
In total, the American delegation collected three medals at this year’s Acro World Championships. Final results are available on the FIG event website.
