INDIANAPOLIS, May 5, 2022 – More than 900 gymnasts will gather this weekend at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, N.Y., and the Mountain America Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah, for the 2022 USA Gymnastics Women’s Development Program Level 9 Eastern and Western Championships. All-around and apparatus champions will be crowned in 16 age divisions – eight junior and eight senior. Regional Super Team titles will also be awarded.

The concurrent events serve as the culmination of the competitive season for Level 9 athletes. Participating gymnasts qualified to compete based on performances at regional championships earlier in the season.

Eastern Championships, Rochester, N.Y.

The Eastern Championships will feature the top Level 9 gymnasts from Regions 5-8. Regions are determined by state: Region 5 – Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio; Region 6 – Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont; Region 7 – Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia; Region 8 – Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee.

Participating athletes are listed here, and the competition schedule is outlined below in eastern time. Award ceremonies will be held at the conclusion of each session.

  • Friday, May 5: Session I – Junior 1 and 2 at 9:05 a.m.; Session II – Junior 3 and 4 at 1:35 p.m.; Session III – Junior 5 and 6 at 6:05 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 6: Session IV – Junior 7 and 8 at 9:05 a.m.; Session V – Senior 1 and 2 at 1:35 p.m.; Session VI – Senior 3 and 4 at 6:05 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 7: Session VII – Senior 5 and 6 at 9:05 a.m.; Session VIII – Senior 7 and 8 at 1:35 p.m.

The Western Championships will welcome the top Level 9 gymnasts from Regions 1-4, which are divided by state as follows: Region 1 – Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah; Region 2 – Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington; Region 3 – Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Wyoming; Region 4 – Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin.
