INDIANAPOLIS, March 1, 2018 – The Athlete Selection Committee for women’s gymnastics has added Simone Biles of Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre, to the 2018 U.S. Women’s National Team.

Laurent and Cecile Landi, Biles’ coaches, submitted videos of Biles’ training to USA Gymnastics for review by the Athlete Selection Committee, in accordance with the rules and policies. After watching the videos earlier this week, the Athlete Selection Committee decided to add Biles to the senior national team effective immediately.

“Based on the level of skills and gymnastics we saw on the videos, the committee was very encouraged about where she is with her gymnastics and voted to add to Simone to the team,” said Rhonda Faehn, senior vice president for women’s gymnastics. “Simone has been working hard for her return to competitive gymnastics, and we look forward to having her back on the team.”
