INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., April 22, 2010 – 2009 world all-around champion Bridget Sloan of Pittsboro, Ind., and 2009 world all-around silver-medalist Rebecca Bross of Plano, Texas, headline the six-woman U.S. Team that will compete in the 2010 Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships, April 29-May 2, at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne, Australia.

The six-woman team includes three senior and three junior gymnasts: seniors – Alexandra Raisman of Needham, Mass./Brestyan’s American Gymnastics, Bross of WOGA and Sloan of Sharp’s Gymnastics; and juniors – Kyla Ross of Aliso Viejo, Calif./Gym-Max, Sabrina Vega of Carmel, N.Y./Dynamic Gymnastics, and Jordyn Wieber of DeWitt, Mich./Twistars USA.

The artistic gymnastics competition schedule is: Thursday, April 29 – men’s team and all-around competition, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Friday, April 30 – women’s team and all-around finals, 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 1 – men’s junior and senior individual event finals, 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 2 – women’s junior and senior individual event finals, 2 p.m. All times are local to Melbourne.

In addition to her world all-around title, Sloan is the reigning U.S. all-around champion and a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic Women’s Team that won the team silver medal. Earlier this year, Bross won the 2010 Tyson American Cup, and she was the 2008 Pac Rim junior all-around champion. Raisman finished second in the 2010 Tyson American Cup and was the junior all-around bronze medalist at the 2009 Visa Championships. Ross, the 2009 U.S. junior all-around champion, won gold medals in the all-around, uneven bars and balance beam at the 2009 Junior Pan American Championships. Vega won the 2009 U.S. junior floor exercise title and was second in the all-around and uneven bars at the 2009 Junior Pan Am Championships. Wieber, the 2008 U.S. junior all-around gold medalist, took top honors at the 2009 Tyson American Cup.

Announced earlier, the U.S. men’s team features: seniors – Christopher Cameron of Winter Haven, Fla./University of Michigan, Danell Leyva of Miami/Universal Sports, and Steven Legendre of Flower Mound, Texas/University of Oklahoma; and juniors –Dylan Akers of Houston/Cypress Gymnastics, C.J. Maestas of Corrales, N.M./Gold Cup Gymnastics, and John Orozco of Bronx, N.Y./World Cup Gymnastics.
