STUTTGART, Germany, Nov. 30, 2014 – Donnell Whittenburg of Baltimore, Md./Team Hilton HHonors (U.S. Olympic Training Center), won the bronze medal at the DTB Pokal World Cup at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Germany, the first of three events in the International Gymnastics Federation’s all-around World Cup Series that concludes at the 2015 AT&T American Cup on March 7 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Oleg Verniaiev of the Ukraine won the competition at 91.731. Brazil’s Sergio Sasaki posted a 90.565 for second, finishing just ahead of Whittenburg’s 90.398.

Whittenburg had the event’s highest score for both the floor exercise (15.466) and the still rings (15.366). His parallel bars mark was the third best at 15.533. He was fourth on vault at 15.000. For the horizontal bar, Whittenburg posted a 14.600, and he earned a 14.333 on the pommel horse. All of his individual event scores were ranked in the top five.
