American athletes are back in action for international artistic competition in Europe this week.

MAG/WAG Memorial Arthur Gander and Swiss Cup

The U.S. will send 2023 World team champion and 2024 Olympic replacement athlete Leanne Wong (Overland Park, Kan./University of Florida) and 2024 NCAA all-around bronze medalist Fuzzy Benas (Richmond, Texas, University of Oklahoma) to the 2024 Swiss Cup November 9 in Zurich, Switzerland. Benas will also compete in the 2024 Memorial Arthur Gander November 6 in Chiasso, Switzerland.

Benas will take the floor first for the Memorial Arthur Gander where he looks to add to the American win column. In Chiasso, gymnasts will choose four apparatus to showcase and compete on one per round. After three rounds of qualifying, the top six gymnasts will advance to the final, where the athlete with the highest cumulative score will be crowned champion.

At the 2024 Swiss Cup Saturday in Zurich, Wong will team up with Benas to compete as a pair. The duo aims for the country’s third consecutive title at the competition after Yul Moldauer (Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics) and Jade Carey (Phoenix, Ariz./Oregon State University) topped the podium in 2023 and Moldauer and Addison Fatta (Wrightsville, Pa./University of Oklahoma) won in 2022. The 2024 event will feature five rounds and 10 teams, with the bottom two teams being dropped after the first round and the bottom four after the second. Scores will reset in the third round and the best teams will compete until the podium is determined.

More information on each competition can be found at memorialgander.ch and swiss-cup.ch for detailed information about each event. Both events are expected to be streamed live here.
