Elite artistic athletes are set to represent the United States this weekend at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge and Mixed Cup in Stuttgart, Germany, and rhythmic athletes will be in action at the Faliro Rhythmic World Cup in Athens, Greece. In all, 28 gymnasts set to compete.
DTB Pokal Team Challenge and Mixed Cup

Leading the senior men’s field in the DTB Pokal Team Challenge are Olympians Brody Malone, Yul Moldauer and Shane Wiskus, along with 2022 World Championships all-around finalist Asher Hong and 2023 Winter Cup all-around silver medalist Fred Richard. The junior lineup will be headed by 2022 U.S. junior floor exercise champion Solen Chiodi, 2023 Winter Cup junior parallel bars silver medalist Zach Green, 2022 Winter Cup junior parallel bars champion Danila Leykin, 2022 U.S. junior vault champion Alex Nitache and 2022 Development National Championships floor champion Max Odden.
The U.S. senior women’s National Team will take the floor in international competition for the first time in 2023 with a roster that includes the top three 2023 Winter Cup all-around finishers, highlighted by champion Lexi Zeiss, silver medalist Ashlee Sullivan, and bronze medalist Nola Matthews. 2023 Winter Cup uneven bars champion Zoe Miller and two-time vault champion Joscelyn Roberson round out the team.
The Team Challenge kicks off Friday, March 17 at 5 a.m. ET with junior men’s team competition followed by senior men at 11 a.m. ET. The senior women’s team will take the floor beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET on Saturday and the men will begin apparatus finals at 1:30 p.m. ET. Team challenge competition concludes Sunday, March 19 at 5 a.m. ET with women’s apparatus finals.
The Mixed Cup will follow the Team Challenge on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET. Matthews also will compete in the Mixed Cup, where she will be joined by Jeremy Bischoff, 2023 Winter Cup horizontal bar silver medalist Landen Blixt, 2022 Men’s Collegiate National Championships all-around silver medalist Isaiah Drake, 2023 Winter Cup vault silver medalist Addison Fatta and 2022 Winter Cup bars bronze medalist Elle Mueller. The Mixed Cup will follow the Team Challenge on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET, with two men and two women from each team competing on each apparatus.

Faliro World Cup

Following the Aphrodite Cup last weekend, rhythmic action continues in Athens March 17-19 for the Palaio Faliro World Cup, featuring all-around, apparatus and group competition. With each country allowed two athletes and one group in finals based on the 2022 World Championships qualifying rankings, the U.S. will be represented by Olympians Evita Griskenas and Lili Mizuno and the Senior National Group, which includes Olympian Izzy Connor, Daria Merkulova, Gergana Petkova, Katrine Sakhnov, Karolina Saverino and Hana Starkman, all trainees at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center.
The event begins with individual hoop and ball qualifications Friday, March 17 at 5:30 a.m. ET, followed by group competition in five hoops. Individual clubs and ribbons qualifiers start off Saturday’s slate at 5:30 a.m. ET, after which groups will participate in three ribbons and two balls qualifications, and the all-around group winners will be determined. Sunday, March 19 will see athletes crowned in finals across all divisions
