Isabel Borges (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) led a U. S. sweep in the all-around and topped American performances at the Portimão International Tournament, winning four individual medals in Portugal. Borges was golden in the all-around, topping the podium with a 105.166 ahead of teammates Sarah Mariotti (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) and Jaelyn Chin (Aventura, Fla./Bessonova’s school), who took silver (102.366) and bronze (99.768), respectively. In apparatus competition, Borges secured silver in the ball (25.333), clubs (26.534) and ribbon (25.033) finals.
Picking up the additional four medals for the seniors were Chin with gold on ball (25.900) and clubs (27.466), and Mariotti with gold (27.034) on hoop, followed by Ruby Freshwater (Northridge, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) with silver (26.266).
Alicia Liu (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) was the top junior, clinching three titles in Portimão. She claimed team gold with teammate Dawn Kim (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) with a combined 95.767 and also secured titles on ball (23.867) and ribbon (23.866). In addition to her team gold, Kim won on clubs with a 24.867.
Josephine Weber (Woodland Hills, Calif./Rhythmic Academy of Los Angeles) also took apparatus gold with a 24.600 in the hoop final. Weber and Aurora Sullivan (Los Angeles, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) posted the second-highest score (93.900) as a junior team but did not podium due to the one-per-country rule.

The junior Burlo group of Sasha Kuliyev (Granada Hills, Calif.), Nina Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif.), Leyla Kukhmazova (Porter Ranch, Calif.), Alana Hirota (West Hills, Calif.), Ziah Khan (Irvine, Calif.) and Katherine Roytman (Chatsworth, Calif.) secured four of the delegation’s seven medals at the Shining Star International Tournament in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The group claimed three medals in group competition, winning silver in five hoops (22.100) and 10 clubs (21.750) as well as all-around bronze (38.250). With Natalia De la Rosa (Woodland Hills, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) and Anna Filipp (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics), the Americans also earned team silver with an overall 135.750 behind host-country Uzbekistan in first (144.450) and ahead of Turkey in third (135.100).
In individual competition, Flipp won ball silver (24.500) and hoop bronze (24.750), while De la Rosa secured ribbon silver (25.150).
