The U.S. delegation abroad brought back 11 medals from international competition over the weekend.

MAG/WAG DTB Pokal Team Challenge and Mixed Cup

American artistic athletes won 10 medals in Germany, led by seniors Junnosuke Iwai (Lewisville, Texas/Texas Dreams Gymnastics) and Riley Loos (Folsom, Calif./Stanford University), and junior Danila Leykin (Sarasota, Fla./EVO Gymnastics), who each won three at the 2025 DTB Pokal Team Challenge and Mixed Cup in Stuttgart.

Iwai, Loos and Leykin won their first medals in team competition, with Loos and Iwai winning senior team silver alongside Taylor Christopulos (Layton, Utah/University of Nebraska), Kiran Mandava (Cypress, Texas/Stanford University) and Kai Uemura (Chicago, Ill./Stanford University) with a combined 243.350, just behind Japan (244.600) and ahead of Italy (242.500). The junior team of Leykin, Nartey Brady (Los Ranchos, N.M./Eagle Ridge Gymnastics), Maksim Kan (Muskego, Wis./Salto Gymnastics Center), Dante Reive (West Point, N.Y./West Point Gymnastics) and Nathan Roman (Poway, Calif./Agility) also picked up team silver with a 231.250. China’s junior team was first with a 234.100 and Great Britain third with a 229.050.

Loos’ second medal was Mixed Cup gold as part of the American team of Mandava, Alex Nitache (Knoxville, Tenn./University of Nebraska), Simone Rose (Sammamish, Wash./Pacific Reign Gymnastics), Nola Matthews (Gilroy, Calif./Airborne Gymnastics Training Center) and Ashlee Sullivan (Richardson, Texas/Metroplex Gymnastics). The US won the title with a 52.300, nearly four points ahead of host-country Germany (48.550) in the gold medal final. Canada won the bronze medal final with a 52.150.

Sunday’s apparatus finals saw the American men win seven individual honors. Loos picked up silver on still rings with a 13.433, while Iwai claimed horizontal bar silver (13.500) and floor exercise bronze (13.866). For the juniors, Leykin completed his trifecta with high bar gold (13.700) and parallel bars bronze (13.266), Reive clinched the junior rings title (13.266), and Roman secured floor bronze (13.200).


RG Thiais Grand Prix

Jaelyn Chin (Aventura, Fla./Bessonova’s school) finished top 10 all-around at the 2025 Thiais Grand Prix in Paris, France. Chin scored a 99.202 to place 10th in the all-around competition won by Ukraine’s Taisiia Onofriichuk (115.251). Chin was also active in the ribbon and ball finals where she finished fourth (27.150) and fifth (26.000), respectively.


RG Friendship Cup

The Senior Group of Goda Balsys (Northbrook, Ill.), Anabella Hantov (Northfield, Ill.), Kristina Lee (Woodridge, Ill.), Anastasia Slipets (Wyckoff, N.J.), Alaini Spata (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and Natalia Ye-Granda (San Diego, Calif.) won all-around gold at the 2025 Friendship Cup in Alkmaar, Netherlands.

The group scored a 35.099 Saturday to beat out the group from Belgium, who scored a 16.716, for gold. On Sunday, all group members, including Lorelei D’Angelo (Deerfield, Ill.), Deanna Georgieva (Redmond, Wash.) and Elizabeth Semenova (Cumming, Ga.), took the floor for a performance.
