SOFIA, Bulgaria, Nov. 16, 2013 – Alyssa Oh of Rocklin, Calif./Technique Gymnastics, and Jordyn Duffield of Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, claimed the girls 11-12 double mini-trampoline gold and bronze medals, respectively, as the U.S. medal count at the 2013 World Trampoline and Tumbling Age Group Competition in Sofia, Bulgaria, rose to 11. Cody Gesuelli of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./ETA, boys 15-16 trampoline, bronze; Patrick Lyell, Kenner of La./Elmwood Gymnastics Academy, boys 11-12 double-mini, bronze; and Caanon Gibbons of Seminole, Texas/Acrospirits, and Lexi Vigil, Levelland, Texas/Acrospirits, girls 13-14 synchronized trampoline, bronze; also won medals.
Oh scored 65.000, while Duffield posted a 63.200, giving them the gold and bronze medals, respectively, in the girls 11-12 double mini-trampoline final. Russia’s Viktoria Khodevtseva won the silver with 64.500.
In the boys 15-16 trampoline final, China’s Liu Changxin took the gold, 56.700, followed by Kazakhstan’s Pirmammad Aliyev, 53.170, and Gesuelli, 52.870.
Anton Tsitsarev of Russia won the boys 11-12 double-mini final, 67.000, with teammate Dmitry Lebedev in second, 64.400. Lyell won the bronze with a score of 63.700.
Vigil and Gibbons earned a 42.800 to win the girls 13-14 synchronized trampoline bronze. New Zealand’s Elizabeth Stevenson and Alexa Kennedy shared the gold medal with Japan’s Moeri Handa and Hikaru Mori. Both duos earned 43.300.
