2000 Olympian Tasha Schwikert Scheduled to Compete
Indianapolis – Many of America’s elite gymnasts, including 2000 Olympian Tasha Schwikert (Las Vegas, Nev.) and two-time junior national champion Kristal Uzelac (Johnstown, Pa.), will take the floor at the U.S. Classic, July 20-22, at the Bronco Gymnasium on the campus of California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, Calif.
The U.S. Classic serves as a qualification event and preview for the upcoming U.S. Gymnastics Championships, August 8-11 in Philadelphia.
The U.S. Gymnastics Championships is the qualification event for the 2001 World Championships Team. Six gymnasts will represent the United States at the World Championships, October 28-November 4 in Ghent, Belgium.
Possible senior competitors in the U.S. Classic include Mohini Bhardwaj (Cincinnati, Ohio), UCLA National Champion, and national team members Marie Fjordholm (The Woodlands, Texas), Ashley Kelly (Tulsa, Okla.), Ashley Miles (San Antonio, Texas), Amanda Stroud (Blue Springs, Mo.), Rachel Tidd (San Marcos, Calif.) and Tabitha Yim (Irvine, Calif.).
