MAIA, Portugal, March 10, 2014 – The USA’s mixed pair of Kiley Boynton and Ryan Ward, both are from Riverside, Calif./Realis Gymnastics Academy, took top honors in the mixed pairs at the Maia (Portugal) World Cup this past weekend. The Maia International Acro Cup for juniors and age-group athletes was held in conjunction with the World Cup. At the MIAC, the USA’s Bryan Allen of San Jose, Calif., and Brennan Atsatt of Santa Cruz, Calif., both of whom train at Aerial Tumbling and Acro Gymnastics, won the junior men’s pairs title, and Aisley Boynton and Maxim Sedochenkov, both hail from Riverside/Realis Gymnastics Academy, claimed the silver medal in the Age Group 1 mixed pairs competition.

Kiley Boynton and Ward led heading into the final round, and clinched the World Cup title with their combined routine score of 30.765. Great Britain captured the silver and bronze medals: Alice Upcott and Dominic Smith at 29.880 and Eleanor Franks and Christopher Rogers at 28.800.

In the men’s junior pairs, Allen and Atsatt posted a 81.400 total to secure the title. Pedro Melo and Rafael Branco of GDS Cascais were second at 78.750. Ivo Gabadinho and Ruben Inacio of Gimnofaro Gymnastics Centre were third with 74.520.

Competing in Age Group 1, Aisley Boynton and Sedochenkov tallied an 26.950 total for second place. They finished behind Jordan Franklin and Lilyella Paul of Heathrow Gymnastics Club, who had 27.150 points, and ahead of Henrique Piqueiro and Ana Silva of Acro Clube da Maia at 26.800.
