METZ, France, Nov. 19 2010 – Shaylee Dunavin of Amarillo, Texas, and Tyler Waller of Bloomington, Ill., each won a bronze medal in 13-14 double mini-trampoline at the 2010 World Age Group Trampoline and Tumbling Competition in Metz, France. The medal was Dunavin’s third of the event. The USA earned a total of 13 medals during the four-day competition, including four gold, three silver and six bronze.
Dunavin, who trains at Trinity Trampoline and Tumbling, won the bronze in girls’ 13-14 double-mini with a 63.800. She previously won the silver in girls’ 13-14 tumbling and the bronze in girls’ 13-14 trampoline. Alexandria Giesbrecht of Canada took the double-mini crown (65.400). Georgia Downing of Great Britain finished second (65.300). Andrey Yudin of Russia won the boys’ 13-14 double-mini (67.200) title. Michel Radloff of Germany was second (66.100). Waller, who trains at Gymnastics Etc., placed third (65.400).
Japan’s Toshiharu Kiguchi and Ginga Munetomo won the boys’ 15-16 synchronized trampoline title (48.300).Uladzislau Hancharou and Rabtsau Aleh of Belarus landed in second (46.800), and Filip Tratwal and Piotr Tratwal of Poland took third (43.600). Thomas Coe of Stafford, Va./Novaks Gymnastics Center Inc., and John Langford of Novaks Gymnastics, finished in fifth place. Solenn Bardy and Lea Labrousse of France (44.000) won the girls’ 15-16 title. Ayana Fujita and Mizufo Fukui of Japan finished second(42.400), with Kazakhstan’s Ruzana Ramazanova and Assel Yegizkarayeva in third (42.200).
Hanna Harchonak of Belarus won girls’ 17-18 tumbling (36.900). Mayu Otani of Japan claimed second (35.900), and Andreia Robalo of Portugal rounded out the top three (34.200). Alicia Powder of Ladera Ranch, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, finished in fifth place. Nathan Bailey of Great Britain claimed the boys’ 17-18 gold (37.800). Russia’s Valery Anisimov and Valery Bobov finished second (37.800) and third (37.500), respectively.
Russia finished first and third in boys’ 11-12 tumbling, with Alexey Kryzhanovskiy taking the gold medal (32.100) and Vasily Makarskiy earning the bronze (30.000). Rasmus Hansen of Denmark won the silver medal (31.300). Great Britain claimed the top two spots in girls’ 11-12 tumbling, with Rachel Davies (31.000) and Isabel Deacon (30.900), respectively. Victoria Glazkova of Russia earned the bronze medal (30.200).
The USA’s medalists from the first three days are: gold medalists – Erin Jauch of Crystal Lake, Ill. (girl’s 15-16 double mini-trampoline), Kiara Nowlin of Oxnard, Calif. (15-16 girls’ tumbling), Andrea Ghanian of Holmdel, N.J., and Meghan O’Connell of Middletown, N.J. (11-12 girls’ synchronized trampoline), and Sonia Shah of Indianapolis, Ind. (girls’ 17-18 double mini-trampoline); silver medalists –Maggie Gallagher of Coto de Caza, Calif. (girl’s 11-12 trampoline), Cody Gesuelli of Middletown, N.J.,( boys’ 11-12 double mini-trampoline), and Shaylee Dunavin of Amarillo, Texas (girl’s 13-14 tumbling); and bronze medalists – Samuel Chiacchia of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Ronald Jacobson III of Penryn, Calif. (boys’ 13-14 synchronized trampoline), Dunavin (13-14 girls’ trampoline), Ryan Roberts of Ramona, Calif. (17-18 boys’ double-mini), and Kaylah Whaley of Knoxville, Tenn. (girls’ 17-18 tumbling).
