SANTIAGO de QUERETARO, Mexico, Dec. 2, 2012 – The USA won four medals at the 2012 Pan American Trampoline and Tumbling Championships, at the Josefa Ortíz de Domínguez Auditorium in Santiago de Queretaro, Qro., Mexico. Kalon Ludvigson of Pocatello, Idaho/Team Revolution, and Marina Moskalenko of St. Cloud, Fla./Stick It Gymnastics, won the men’s and women’s tumbling gold medals. Kristle Lowell of Orland Park, Ill./Branch Gymnastics, earned the women’s silver medal in the double mini-trampoline. Austin Nacey of Braidwood, Ill./TwistStars Tumbling and Trampoline, who was competing in his first international event as a senior, claimed the men’s tumbling bronze.
In tumbling, Moskalenko finished her first pass with whips through to double layout, and she finished her second pass with a full out to post a 59.800 for the title. Brazil’s Paula Esboriol and Mabel Provazi Barreiros were second and third, respectively, at 52.800 and 51.600. Ludvigson had a spectacular first pass, with impressive twisting doubles, and nailed his second pass to easily win the men’s crown at 77.100. Canada’s Junior Charpentier-Leclerc was second at 68.300. Nacey had great double layouts in his first pass, finishing with a double tuck, and his second pass included a solid twisting pass for a 67.700.
In double-mini, Lowell had two great passes, including a half-out pike in her first pass for a total of 66.100, finishing behind Canada’s Corissa Boychuk at 67.100. Brazil’s Carolina Tropia Aladim was third at 64.400. Nacey hit his Miller pass, but in his second pass, he hit his Triffus mount but missed the dismount, posting a total of 61.300 for sixth. Canada claimed the gold and bronze with Denis Vachon winning the title with a 73.800 and Ryan Sheehan in third at 67.900. Argentina’s Lucas Adorno scored a 72.000 to take the silver medal.
