CALGARY, Alberta, Canada, March 19, 2017 – At the University of Calgary International Cup in Calgary, Canada, Team USA won a total of 16 medals in the event finals. Paul Juda of Deerfield, Ill./Buffalo Grove Gymnastics Center, won five medals, including three gold. Shane of Wiskus of Spring Park, Minn./Mini-Hops Gymnastics, brought home five medals, including one gold.

On the senior level, Wiskus and Canada’s Rene Cournoyer tied for the parallel bars gold at 14.100. China’s Tao HaoPeng was third at 13.850.

Wiskus claimed the floor exercise silver with his 14.100. China’s Mu Jile was first (14.300) and Canada’s Evan Cruz third (13.650). Alexei Vernyi of Cypress, Texas/Cypress Academy of Gymnastics, placed fifth at 13.350.

Cameron Bock of Tustin, Calif./U.S. Olympic Training Center, took second on the pommel horse (13.800). China’s Yin Dehang was first at 14.550, and teammate Tao was third (13.350).

On the still rings, Wiskus earned the bronze at 13.500. Cournoyer was first with a 14.450 followed by China’s Ma Yue with a 14.050. Bock was sixth at 11.750.

Vernyi and Tao tied for vault’s silver with a 14.000. Canada’s Jeremy Bartholomeusz won gold with a 14.900. Wiskus got the bronze at 13.350.

Wiskus tied for the bronze at 13.450 with Ma in the horizontal bar. Canada’s Anderson Loran and Cournoyer tied for first at 13.750, followed by New Zealand’s Devy Dyson at 13.600

For the juniors, Juda won the floor exercise title with his 13.800. Canada’s William Emard was second at 13.550, followed by teammate Darren Wong at 13.400. The USA’s Ian Lasic-Ellis of Dover, Mass./Massachusetts Elite Gymnastics Academy, and Julian Brutchin-Roose of Van Nuys, Calif/Gymnastics Olympica USA, finished fifth (12.700) and sixth (12.500), respectively.

For pommel horse, Lasic-Ellis grabbed the bronze medal (11.650). Canadians David Sandro (13.150) and Evgeny Siminiuc (11.900) went one-two. Brutchin-Roose and Juda were fifth (11.300) and sixth (11.050), respectively.

The still rings’ silver and bronze medalists were Juda (13.400) and Lasic-Ellis (12.950). Emard was the champion at 13.550. Brutchin-Roose was sixth (12.150).

On vault, Juda’s 14.100 easily took top honors. Wong was second at 13.850, with his teammate Felix Dolci third at 13.750. Brutchin-Roose was fourth (13.450), with Lasic-Ellis in sixth (11.900).

Earlier in the competition, the USA won the senior silver and junior gold team medals. In the all-around, Wiskus won the senior title, with Bock grabbing the bronze. Brutchin-Roose and Juda tied for second at 75.650 in the junior men’s all-around.

Juda snared the parallel bars silver at 13.250, with Brutchin-Roose taking bronze (12.150). Lasic-Ellis was fifth at 11.050. Siminiuc took the title with a 13.500.

Juda scored a 13.250 to win the high bar gold. Dolci was second at 12.800, with Lasic-Ellis in third (12.350). Brutchin-Rose as fourth with 12.150.
