Indianapolis – Southern California will get a preview of the 2003 World Gymnastics Championships when the USA Gymnastics Pacific Challenge, featuring top National Team athletes from the USA, Canada and Australia, comes to Cal. State-Fullerton at 7 p.m. March 22.

The event will showcase the USA’s medal hopefuls and Commonwealth challengers as they prepare for the upcoming 2003 World Gymnastics Championships, Aug. 16-24 in Anaheim.
“This will be an important opportunity for all of the teams as we prepare for the World Championships this summer,” said USA Gymnastics President Bob Colarossi. “It will also give Southern California a good example of what to expect in August when the world’s top gymnasts will compete for world titles and a berth in the Olympic Games.”
The USA Gymnastics Pacific Challenge will feature two U.S. teams of six athletes from the combined Senior and Junior National Teams. The U.S. team rosters will be announced following the conclusion of the National Team Training Camp on Feb. 26. Athlete rosters from Canada and Australia will be confirmed at the same time.
