Riesa, Germany – The 2002 FIG Sports Acrobatics World Championships concluded today in Riesa, Germany. USA Gymnastics Sports Acrobatics had one of its strongest showing from top to bottom in terms of performance and results.
The USA Mixed Pair of Arthur Davis and Shenea Booth (Empire: Riverside, Calif.) tied the pair from Russia to share the GOLD MEDAL as World Champions. Arthur and Shenea were last to compete in the Finals and performed beautifully to tie the Russians with a score of 18.76.
The USA Women’s Pair of Jessica Gardner and Nicolette Bohnert (Empire: Riverside, CA) finished in 5th place overall with a solid Combined routine in finals.
Several members of the USA delegation now travel to Switzerland to join a large athlete delegation for the 2002 Winterthur Cup near Zurich.
