INDIANPOLIS, July 2, 2015 – USA Gymnastics has named the five women who will represent the USA at the 2015 Pan American Games scheduled for July 10-26 in Toronto, Ont., Canada, pending approval by the United States Olympic Committee. Gymnastics competition begins on July 11 with the men’s team finals, which also serve as the all-around and individual event final qualification. The women take the floor on July 12 for team finals.

The five members of the U.S. Pan American Women’s Gymnastics Team are: Madison Desch of Lenexa, Kan./GAGE; Rachel Gowey of Urbandale, Iowa/Chow’s Gymnastics; Amelia Hundley of Fairfield, Ohio/Cincinnati Gymnastics; Emily Schild of Huntersville, N.C./Everest Gymnastics; and Megan Skaggs of Marietta, Ga./Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta. The replacement athletes are Nia Dennis of Westerville, Ohio/Buckeye Gymnastics; Felicia Hano of San Gabriel, Calif./Gym-Max; and Lauren Navarro of La Verne, Calif./Gliders.

After two days of verification, the Selection Committee unanimously decided on the five athletes to represent the United States at the Pan Am Games,” said Martha Karolyi, the women’s national team coordinator. “Led by Madison Desch, who was an alternate for the 2014 World Team, this is a young but talented team, and the experience of competing at the Pan Am Games will help them as they continue to gain experience for the World Team selection. We look forward to their performances at the Games.”

For men’s gymnastics, the U.S. men’s squad includes: Marvin Kimble of Milwaukee, Wis./U.S. Olympic Training Center; Steven Legendre of Norman, Okla./Team Hilton HHonors (University of Oklahoma); Sam Mikulak of Newport Coast, Calif./Team Hilton HHonors (USOTC); Paul Ruggeri of Manlius, N.Y./USOTC; and Donnell Whittenburg of Baltimore, Md./Team Hilton HHonors (USOTC).

For rhythmic gymnastics, Jazzy Kerber of Highland Park, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, and Laura Zeng of Libertyville, Ill./North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, are competing, along with the senior rhythmic group. The members of the rhythmic gymnastics group, who train at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, are: Kiana Eide of Northbrook, Ill.; Alisa Kano of Glencoe, Ill.; Natalie McGiffert of Northbrook, Ill.; Monica Rokhman of Northbrook, Ill.; Jennifer Rokhman of Northbrook, Ill.; and Kristen Shaldybin of Chicago.

The U.S. Pan Am Team for trampoline is: men – Logan Dooley of Lake Forest, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, and Steven Gluckstein of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./Elite Trampoline Academy; and women – Charlotte Drury of Laguna Niguel, Calif./World Elite Gymnastics, and Clare Johnson of Huntsville, Ala./The Matrix.

The gymnastics schedule at the Pan Am Games is: July 11 –men’s team final and all-around and individual event qualification (USA, Subdivision 1); July 12 – women’s team final and all-around and individual event qualification (USA, Subdivision 1); July 13 – men’s and women’s all-around finals; July 14-15 – men’s and women’s individual event finals; July 17-18 – rhythmic gymnastics qualifications; July 18-19 – men’s and women’s trampoline qualifications and finals; and July 19-20 – rhythmic gymnastics finals.
