INDIANAPOLIS, June 14, 2019 – Sydney Barros of Lewisville, Texas/Texas Dreams, Skye Blakely of Frisco, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics, and Kayla DiCello of Boyds, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics, were named to the 2019 Junior World Championships Team following the completion of the World Team Trials held earlier today. Konnor McClain of Cross Lanes, W.Va./Revolution Gymnastics, is the traveling alternate.

Blakely won the all-around at the Trials competition with a 56.500 total and was automatically named to the team. DiCello was second at 55.750. Barros and McClain finished third and fourth, respectively, at 54.550 and 54.150. For the Junior World Team, gymnasts must be 14 or 15 years of age in 2019.

The Junior World Championships are June 27-30 in Gyor, Hungary. This is the first Junior Worlds for men’s and women’s gymnastics, and medals will be awarded for team, all-around and individual events. The tentative schedule is: June 27, men’s team and all-around finals and individual event final qualifications; June 28, women’s team and all-around finals and individual event final qualifications; June 29-30, men and women’s event finals.

In addition, Love Birt of Camden, Del./First State Gymnastics; Sienna Robinson of Las Vegas, Nev./Brown’s Gymnastics Las Vegas; Ava Siegfeldt of Hampton, Va./World Class Gymnastics; Mya Witte of Greenacres, Fla./Genie’s Gymnastics; and Barros qualified to compete in the U.S. Championships, Aug. 8-11 in Kansas City, Mo.
