On July 24-26, 2015 USA Gymnastics hosted another successful GFA Training Camp (Course G310) at Fliptastic! Gymnastics, Dance and Cheer in Carmichael, Calif. In attendance were both male and female Power TeamGym Level 1 through 8 athletes, Gym owners, Coaches and Judges, representing clubs ranging from the East to the West Coast. Technicians included Cheryl Cupples (Power TeamGym Technical Committee, Texas), Don Spencer (Chair, Power TeamGym Technical Committee, Colorado) and the new USA Gymnastics liaison for Group Acro and Tumbling, Erica Schaefer, a former National Champion NCATA athlete at University of Oregon.

During the 3 day camp, all aspects of Gymnastics for All were covered and some of the athlete’s favorite sessions were group colaboration in creating Performance Gymnastics routines including props and costumes culminating in a performance to finish off the camp experience. Coaches practiced spotting techniques and athletes learned new skills and drills. Judges, coaches and owners reviewed changes to the Power TeamGym Rules with members of the Technical Committee. These rules are now in effect for the next quadrennium: 2016-2019 and can be found by clicking here.
