INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 24, 2025) – The USA Gymnastics Foundation has named Senior Men’s National Team members Taylor Burkhart and Brody Malone the newest recipients of the Daniel Zimpfer Memorial Fund Grant.

Named in memory of NCAA gymnast and Olympic hopeful Daniel Zimpfer, the $20,000 grant supports men’s gymnasts as they pursue Olympic aspirations. Burkhart and Malone were selected for the award based on their extraordinary work ethic and displays of leadership throughout the year.

In 2025, Burkhart secured gold on floor exercise at the 2025 Antalya World Cup, won the 2025 U.S. horizonal bar title and earned team silver with Stanford University at the 2025 NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships. As a U.S. athlete, Burkhart has been on the Senior National Team since 2022, is a two-time U.S. medalist and a five-time NCAA medalist.

Malone won the U.S. parallel bars gold medal this August, and two months later, clinched his second-career global high bar title at the 2025 Artistic World Championships in Jakarta Indonesia. Prior to that, Malone was part of the U.S. men’s team that won team bronze at the 2024 Olympic Games, just 16 months after a potentially career-ending injury in March of 2023. He is a three-time World medalist, a 14-time U.S. medalist and 13-time NCAA medalist.

“Brody and Taylor are highly respected leaders of the U.S. Men’s National Team,” said Vice President of the Men’s Program Jason Woodnick. “They each display unparalleled work ethic and the desire to elevate their teammates. Both have been faced with hardships but have continued to stay optimistic and demonstrate the fight that has made them each successful in their gymnastics careers.”

The Daniel Zimpfer Memorial Fund was established by Ron Brandt and Sherry Von Riesen in conjunction with the Zimpfer family. Grant recipients are selected by the USA Gymnastics Foundation’s Men’s Fund Committee and USA Gymnastics Foundation Board of Directors.
