Indianapolis – USA Gymnastics is pleased to announce the delegations for the upcoming women’s fall events: training camp and dual meet with Mexico, USA/Brazil/Ukraine training camp and competition, Top Gym, DeHypotheekshop Gymnastics Top, World Championships Selection Camp, and Junior Pan American Games.

Training Camp/Dual Meet with Mexico

The women’s fall season kicks off September 19-23, when seven women’s national team members will participate in a training camp and dual meet with the national team from Mexico at the Women’s National Team Training Center in Houston, Texas. Representing the U.S. will be senior national team members Terin Humphrey (Bates City, Mo.), Nina Kim (Houston, Texas), and Liz Tricase (Itasca, Ill.), and junior national team members Chellsie Memmel (West Allis, Wis.), Tia Orlando (Souderton, Pa.), Carly Patterson (Baton Rouge, La.), and Hollie Vise (Dallas, Texas).

USA/Brazil/Ukraine Training Camp & Competition

Following the training camp and dual meet with Mexico, Humphrey, Kim, Tricase, Memmel, Orlando, Patterson, and Vise will travel to Curitiba, Brazil on September 23-30 to participate in a training camp and competition with gymnasts from Brazil and Ukraine.

Top Gym

Susan Jackson (Houston, Texas) and Marcia Newby (Virginia Beach, Va.) have been assigned to Top Gym, October 19-20, in Charleroi, Belgium. In addition, this is the first international judging assignment for 1991 World Champion Kim Zmeskal.

DeHypothoeekshop Gymnastics Top

Following the Top Gym competition in Belgium, Jackson and Newby will travel to the Netherlands for the DeHypotheekshop Gymnastics Top, October 26-27. Also competing for the U.S. will be fellow junior national team members Nicole Harris (Allentown, Pa.) and Sarah Shire (Holts Summit, Mo.).

World Championships Selection Camp

The World Championships Selection Camp is October 22-27, at the Women’s National Team Training Center in Houston, Texas. The following athletes have been invited to attend the selection camp:

The selection camp will determine which gymnasts will represent the U.S. at the 2002 Individual World Championships in Debrecen, Hungary, November 20-24.

Junior Pan American Games

The Junior Pan American Games are scheduled for November 4-10 in the Dominican Republic. The U.S. women’s team will include Tia Orlando (Souderton, Pa.), Melanie Sinclair (Orlando, Fla.), Chellsie Memmel (West Allis, Wis.) and Allyse Ishino (Santa Ana, Calif.). Prior to the meet, the team will train at the women’s national team training center with the Canadian junior national team.
