“This national team is the building block for the 2001 and 2003 World Championships and the 2004 Olympic Games,” said Bob Colarossi, President of USA Gymnastics. “We look forward to supporting these men in their quest to win medals at upcoming international competitions.”
The role of national team members is to represent the U.S. in international competitions throughout the year and to train to meet the objectives of the men’s program.
The Winter Cup Challenge, February 9-10 in Las Vegas, is the first opportunity to add new members to the team and to re-rank non-Olympic Team members. Olympic Team members have a guaranteed spot on the national team for the entire year.
