How-To Guides:
New for 2025-2026:
Volunteer Criminal Background Check Requirement: To ensure the adherence to USAG policies, Volunteer members 18+ will be required to complete the USA Gymnastics background check screening to be eligible to participate as a volunteer at a USA Gymnastics sanctioned event.
Volunteer members can complete the screening through their USAG profile. The cost for a domestic background check screening is $30, valid for 2 years, and will take approximately 3-5 business days to receive the results.
Volunteer members will be considered pending and not eligible to participate in sanctioned events until results have been received and the background check certification is expiration date appears on their USAG profile.
Certificate of Insurance Requirement: As outlined in the Membership Terms and Conditions, organizations applying for Member Clubs or Event Production membership must maintain comprehensive general liability insurance coverage. To ensure compliance, organizations must now upload their organization’s Certificate of Insurance (COI) during the membership registration process. To ensure no disruptions during the registration process, a PDF of the COI is recommended to be saved on the device before beginning the membership registration process.
Sanction Update: USAG, like many youth sports organizations, is experiencing a significant rise in insurance costs—more than a 60% increase since 2023. The increased cost is part of a broader trend impacting youth sports nationwide, not just our organization. As a result, we face the unfortunate need to increase sanction fees. Understandably, any cost increase can be a challenge for event directors. With that in mind, a new sanction fee structure has been designed to distribute the increased insurance costs based on the number of participating athletes. The intent of this new structure is to lessen the impact on individual event budgets and align insurance costs with event size. In addition, updates will be made to the sanction application and close-out procedures to reflect the new structure.
Sanction Fees: Flat Rate for all events, paid at the time of sanction application: $265
Tiered Rates (additional fees assessed at time of sanction closure):
Sanction Closure and Fee Assessment: When sanction report forms are submitted at the conclusion of the event, the event’s Meet Reservation data will be used to determine the total number of athlete participants. If the total number of athletes exceeds 349, an additional fee will be assessed based on the tiered pricing outlined above. It is also important to note that only sanction report forms that are uploaded directly to the USA Gymnastics website will be accepted this season.
2025-2026 Membership Dues:
*Competitive Coaches, Judges, Meet Directors, and Organization Owners/Managing Directors will only need to pay one membership fee; they will not need to pay a separate membership fee for each role they select. For example, if the individual is a competitive coach and a judge, they will only be charged one fee of $99.
