Athlete Representative Call for Nominations – Deadline Dec. 19

The USA Gymnastics Athletes’ Council (AC) encourages all current and former Women’s Artistic Elite athletes – especially those who have competed in the last 10 years – to join us in ensuring that athletes are well represented in areas of USA Gymnastics’ governance. Build your resume while making your mark on the sport, outside of the gym!

Open positions are listed below. To nominate yourself or someone else to an athlete representative position, please submit the following information via email to [email protected] by December 19, 2025.

  • Name
  • Specific positions of interest – we encourage nominees to list several different seats or positions of interest. You may also declare a general interest to serve in any available seat
  • Last year of participation in a Delegation Event (listed below)
  • Resume, CV or other list of qualifications
  • Optional: Letter of interest, including the reasons you would like to serve

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older;
  • Be eligible to work in the United States;
  • Have competed in a Delegation Event defined as:
    • The Elite National Championships for Women’s Artistic, Men’s Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline & Tumbling, or Acrobatic between 2005 and present; or
    • World Championships; or
    • Pan American Games; or
    • Olympic Games

Athlete Type Descriptions:

  • 10 Year Athlete:
    • Any athlete who has competed in the Elite National Championships in Artistic, Rhythmic, T&T, or Acro, or Olympic Games, World Championships, or Pan Am Games in the last ten (10) years.
  • 10+ Year Athlete:
    • Any athlete who has competed in the Elite National Championships for their discipline dating back to 2005 or any athlete who competed in Olympic Games, World Championships, or Pan Am Games at any point in time.
  • Actively Engaged Athlete:
    • Any Athlete who has competed in a USAG sanctioned event in the last two (2) years at any level.

Athlete Representative Position Descriptions
Technical Committee
CHARTER
Athlete Type Eligibility: 10 Year, 10+ year, Actively Engaged

  • A judging background is preferred

Term: 2 Years (January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027)
Time Commitment: At least one meeting per year (via zoom or in-person)
Description: The USA Gymnastics National Technical Committee (“Committee”) is an operating committee under the USA Gymnastics Bylaws and will work with the appropriate USA Gymnastics staff persons as set forth herein, such staff persons will be overseen by the President or their designee. The Committee is charged with the development, interpretation, and coordination of technical information for the Women’s Program.

National Xcel Committee
CHARTER
Athlete Type Eligibility: 10 Year, 10+ year, Actively Engaged
Term: 2 Years (January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027)
Time Commitment: At least one meeting per year (via zoom or in-person)
Description: The USA Gymnastics National Xcel Committee (“Committee”) is an operating committee under the USA Gymnastics Bylaws and will work with the appropriate USA Gymnastics staff persons as set forth herein, such staff persons will be overseen by the President. The Committee is charged with coordinating a national effort to inform, train, educate and advise gymnasts and coaches in the Xcel Program.

National Administrative Committee
CHARTER
Athlete Type Eligibility: 10 Year, 10+ year, Actively Engaged
Term: 2 Years (January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027)
Time Commitment: At least one meeting per year (via zoom or in-person)
Description: The USA Gymnastics National Administrative Committee (“Committee”) is an operating committee and will work with the appropriate USA Gymnastics staff persons as set forth herein, such staff persons will be overseen by the President. The Committee is charged with the coordination of the administration of the USA Gymnastics Women’s Program.
