INDIANAPOLIS, January 25, 2021 – USA Gymnastics has announced the 2021 Senior Pan American Championships will no longer be held in the United States. Though honored by the opportunity to host this multi-discipline, international Olympic qualifying event, after assessing all COVID-related risks and requirements, officials determined that it would not be in the best interests of all participating athletes for the event to be held in the U.S.
Prior to its postponement due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the event, which plays host to athletes from North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, was scheduled to be held May 7-10, 2020 in Utah Valley. Updated 2021 dates had not yet been announced. The International Gymnastics Federation and Pan American Games Union will provide updated event details as decisions are made.
