RIO DE JANEIRO (June 17, 2026) – The U.S. senior women’s team clinched team gold and the U.S. men team bronze to kick off artistic competition at the 2026 Pan American Championships.

Boosted by the best three all-around scores of the day from Charleigh Bullock (Spotsylvania, Va./Capital Gymnastics National Training Center), Claire Pease (Sunnyvale, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) and Simone Rose (Sammamish, Wash./Pacific Reign Gymnastics), the women’s team of the trio and Alessia Rosa (Greenwich, Conn./Hill’s Gymnastics) won the team title with a combined 161.628. With that finish, the delegation qualified the U.S. women to the 2026 World Championships this October. Brazil won team silver (157.796) behind the U.S. and Canada took bronze (156.997).

Hezly Rivera (Oradell, N.J./WOGA Gymnastics) and Lila Richardson (Russellville, Ark./Metroplex Gymnastics) both withdrew from the competition.

The American women had a strong qualifying session on Wednesday, with each final set to see a U.S. athlete competing. With the top all-around score on Day 1 with a 54.165, Bullock advanced to Friday’s final with ease. She also earning her spot in the balance beam (13.566) and floor exercise (13.033) finals, both in second.

Pease also had an impressive qualifying day, advancing in second (53.932) to the all-around final, first in the uneven bars (14.100) and floor (13.400) finals, and third on vault (13.849; 14.266, 13.033). Rose will be the third American making final appearances, qualifying third to beam (13.566), fourth to bars (13.333) and eighth to vault (13.449; 13.766, 12.733). She also notched the third-highest all-around score but could not advance to the final due to the two-per-country rule.

Also securing their spot to the Artistic World Championships in Rotterdam were the American men, who earned bronze in the team final with a 235.961. The team of Taylor Burkhart (Arvada, Colo./Stanford University), Patrick Hoopes (Lehi, Utah/U.S. Air Force Academy), Riley Loos (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Stanford University), Yul Moldauer (Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics) and Kameron Nelson (Columbus, Ohio/EVO Gymnastics), secured the last spot on the podium behind Canada in first (243.026) and Colombia in second (241.594).

Moldauer will represent the U.S. in five of the seven men’s finals, first of them being the all-around where he qualified second with an 80.864 overall. He also advanced second on parallel bars (13.866), fifth on still rings (13.633) and pommel horse (13.233), and eighth on horizontal bar (13.333).

Loos will take on rings (fourth, 13.700) and floor (sixth, 13.533), while Burkhart competes in the high bar (fourth, 13.966) and parallel bars (fifth, 13.533) finals. Hoopes was top qualifier on pommel horse with a 14.600, and Nelson will join him in Sunday’s finals on vault after advancing in eighth (13.116; 12.600, 13.633).

Pan Am competition shifts to junior action on Thursday, where the U.S. lineup will aim to secure team and all-around titles, and qualifying spots to Saturday’s even finals.
