The U.S. women stretch prior to Friday’s training

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., May 1, 2009 – 2008 Olympic team silver-medalist Bridget Sloan of Pittsboro, Ind., is among the eight members of the U.S. Women’s National Team who will compete in the friendly international exchange Saturday night in Muelheim, Germany.

In addition to Sloan, the gymnasts who will compete in Germany and France are: Bridgette Caquatto, Naperville, Ill./Naperville Gymnastics Club; Mackenzie Caquatto, Naperville, Ill./Naperville Gymnastics Club; Olivia Courtney, Orlando, Fla./Orlando Metro; Kytra Hunter, Frederick, Md./Hill’s Gymnastics; Mattie Larson, Los Angeles/All Olympic Gymnastics; Corrie Lothrop, Danvers, Mass./Hill’s Gymnastics; and Sabrina Vega, Carmel, N.Y./Dynamic Gymnastics. Sloan trains at Sharp’s Gymnastics.

Prior to competition, the delegation attended a dinner and press conference in addition to training at the venue.

The German squad is expected to include 2008 Olympian Anja Brinker and 2008 Olympic alternate Kim Bui, along with Désirée Baumert, Katja Roll, Elisabeth Seitz and Susann Herbs.

The U.S. Team will go on to compete in a second friendly exchange in Rouen, France, after the German competition.
