MINSK, April 29, 2019 – Competition at the Minsk (Belaurs) World Cup at the Minsk Arena concludes Sunday with synchronized trampoline qualification and finals, plus the finals for individual men’s and women’s trampoline. The USA will be competing in the synchro competition tomorrow at 10 a.m. (local Minsk time). The Minsk World Cup is the second of six World Cup events that are part of the trampoline Olympic qualification process for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. U.S. fans can watch the finals live at 10 a.m. ET or tape-delayed on the Olympic Channel at 8 p.m., with a simulcast.
Sunday’s schedule has synchronized trampoline qualifications at 10 a.m., with the individual trampoline final at 3 p.m. and the synchronized trampoline final at 5 p.m. All times are local to Minsk, which is seven hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern time zone.
Russia’s Andrey Yudin earned the top spot in the men’s trampoline qualification round at 113.010. China’s Tu Xiao posted a 112.850 to take second, ahead of Belarus’ Uladzislau Hancharou at 112.725. The U.S. men’s finishes and scores were: Aliaksei Shostak of Youngsville, La./T&T Express, 17, 109.115; Cody Gesuelli of Huntsville, Ala./Merino Trampoline Gymnastics Academy, 36, 105.710; Isaac Rowley of Allen, Texas/Eagle Gymnastics Academy, did not finish; and Jeffrey Gluckstein of Atlantic Highlands, N.J./Elite Trampoline Academy, did not finish.
For the women’s qualification, China’s Zhu Xueying and Lin Qianqi were first (106.520) and second (105.430), respectively. Russia’s Yana Pavlova was third at 105.425. Team USA’s placements and marks were: Nicole Ahsinger of Lafayette, La./ T&T Express, 31, 98.935; Jessica Stevens of Ellicott, Md./Fairland Gymnastics, 36, 97.695; Sarah Webster of Lafayette, La./T&T Express, 42, 94.765; and Olivia Simpson of Lubbock, Texas/Air Extreme, did not finish.
