PANAMA CITY, Panama (June 14, 2025) – The U.S. men’s and women’s delegations swept team titles Saturday at the 2025 Pan American Championships in Panama.
The American men’s squad of Taylor Christopulos (Layton, Utah/University of Nebraska), Brandon Dang (San Jose, Calif./University of Illinois), Asher Hong (Tomball, Texas/Stanford University), Junnosuke Iwai (Lewisville, Texas/Texas Dreams Gymnastics) and Joshua Karnes (Erie, Penn./Penn State University) were up first Saturday morning, topping the podium with a 238.800 ahead of Canada in second (233.500) and Argentina third (226.000). The U.S. had the highest combined scores on every apparatus by any team except horizontal bar, where Canada posted the top team score.
In the afternoon, Hezly Rivera (Oradell, N.J./WOGA Gymnastics), Dulcy Caylor (Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre), Jayla Hang (Bellevue, Wash./Pacific Reign Gymnastics), Gabrielle Hardie (Sioux Falls, S.D./Twin City Twisters) and Tiana Sumanasekera (Pleasanton, Calif./World Champions Centre) claimed women’s team gold with a 164.765. The Americans had the top scores on every event to land more than 13 points clear of Canada in second (151.633) and Brazil third (151.466).
