THIAIS, France, March 27, 2016 – The U.S. Rhythmic Group advanced to the six clubs/two hoop final this weekend at the Thiais (France) Grand Prix. It was the first competition for the group since their historic run at the 2015 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, where became the first U.S. rhythmic group to earn qualification to the Olympic Games.

The members of the U.S. senior group, who train at North Shore Rhythmic Gymnastics Center, are: Kiana Eide of Northbrook, Ill.; Alisa Kano of Glencoe, Ill.; Natalie McGiffert of Northbrook, Ill.; Monica Rokhman of Northbrook, Ill.; Jennifer Rokhman of Northbrook, Ill.; and Kristen Shaldybin of Chicago.

In the final, the group finished seventh among a field that included four of the countries that participated in the six clubs/two hoop final at last year’s Worlds. They scored 16.850. The group from Belarus took first place, earning a 17.900. Spain (17.850) was close behind in second, followed by Ukraine in third with a 17.800.
