MOSCOW, Sept. 26, 2010 – The U.S. rhythmic gymnastics group finished 22nd in the all-around at the 2010 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships at the Olympiysky Sports Complex in Moscow, where the top 24 groups qualified to compete at the 2011 World Rhythmic Championships. The World Championships concluded on Sunday, Sept. 26, after two days of group competition.
The U.S. group, which is comprised of Jessica Bogdanova, Stephanie Flaksman, Megan Frohlich, Michelle Przybylo, Sofya Roytburg, and Sydney Sachs, finished 22nd in the all-round by placing 17th with rope/ribbon and 24th in hoop.
The U.S. group trains at North Shore Rhythmics in Buffalo Grove, Ill.
The all-around group competition was the first step in Olympic qualifying. The top 24 groups advanced to compete at the 2011 World Championships, which is the second phase of the Olympic qualification process.
Earlier in competition, U.S. rhythmic gymnastics all-around champion Julie Zetlin of Bethesda, Md., finished 23rd in the individual all-around.
