ASUNCIÓN, Par. (May 30, 2025) – Both American individuals as well as the Senior Group qualified to final competition following the first day of competition Friday at the 2025 Senior Pan American Championships in Paraguay.
In individual action, Rin Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) took the top qualifying spot in both hoop (29.500) and ball (28.800), with Megan Chu (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) qualifying second on hoop (29.050). Chu also qualified fourth on ball with a 27.450, and both athletes are in the running for an all-around podium on Saturday.
The Senior National Group of Goda Balsys (Northbrook, Ill.), Anabella Hantov (Northfield, Ill.), Greta Pavilonyte (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), Alaini Spata (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) and Natalia Ye-Granda (San Diego, Calif.) qualified to their final sixth in five ribbons with a 16.450.
The Pan American Championships continue Saturday with all remaining qualifications and the crowning of all-around and team champions. The event is streaming live on the UPAG PAGU YouTube channel and live scoring is available here.
