RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Eight rhythmic athletes will compete in individual and group competition this week at the 2025 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships August 20-24 in Rio, where they will look to score the country’s first-ever medals at the event.
Rin Keys heads to Brazil as the first American rhythmic athlete to win a medal on the world stage when she claimed bronze in clubs at the 2023 Junior World Championships. In her second season as a senior, Keys is already a two-time senior national all-around champion as part of a stellar delegation that includes of U.S. all-around silver medalist Megan Chu and the Senior National Group.
Keys and Chu will vie for individual medals while the group of Goda Balsys, Anabella Hantov, Greta Pavilonyte, Alaini Spata, Kalina Trayanov and Natalia Ye-Granda aim for the same in group competition. Anastasia Slipets will attend the championships as a traveling replacement group athlete.
