The U.S. men and women left Stuttgart, Germany, with 12 medals in tow after a weekend of international competition at the DTB Pokal Team Challenge and Mixed Cup.

Team Challenge

In Team Challenge competition, the U.S. earned team gold in the junior and senior men’s and senior women’s divisions. The senior women’s team of Nola Matthews (Gilroy, Calif./Airborne Gymnastics Training Center), Zoe Miller (Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre), Joscelyn Roberson (Spring, Texas/World Champions Centre), Ashlee Sullivan (Richardson, Texas/WOGA Gymnastics) and Lexi Zeiss (Omaha, Neb./Twin City Twisters), outpaced the competition by nearly 7 points with a score of 162.300 to take home the gold over Belgium in second with a 155.950.

The senior men of Yul Moldauer (Arvada, Colo./5280 Gymnastics) Shane Wiskus (Spring Park, Minn./EVO Gymnastics), Brody Malone (Aragon, Ga./Stanford University), Asher Hong (Tomball, Texas/Stanford University) and Fred Richard (Stoughton, Mass./University of Michigan) landed atop their team podium with a 258.800 over Japan in second with a 253.950. The junior men’s team comprised of Solen Chiodi (Marquette, Mich./Mini-Hops Gymnastics), Zach Green (San Jose, Calif./Stanford Boys Gymnastics), Alex Nitache (Knoxville, Tenn./GymTek Academy), Danila Leykin (Bradenton, Fla./EVO Gymnastics and Max Odden (Scottsdale, Ariz./North Valley Gymnastics) also clinched gold with a 234.050.

Americans added to their hardware during apparatus finals, picking up nine medals. Roberson claimed the senior women’s vault title with a combined 14.083 (14.233, 13.933) and floor exercise silver with a 13.300. Miller led the way on uneven bars with a 14.633. Moldauer placed second on floor among the senior men with a 14.233, and Hong took bronze on pommel horse with a 14.133.

Making their international debuts, Chiodi and Green each walked away with medals in junior apparatus finals. Chiodi secured silver on vault with a combined 13.500 (14.000, 13.000) and bronze on floor with a 13.100. Green won gold on horizontal bar with a 13.600 and Leykin topped the parallel bars standings with a 13.733.

Mixed Cup

Competition concluded Sunday afternoon with the DTB Pokal Mixed Cup featuring Americans Jeremy Bischoff (Santa Clarita, Calif./Stanford University), Landen Blixt (Fowlerville, Mich./University of Michigan), Isaiah Drake (Los Angeles, Calif./U.S. Naval Academy), Addison Fatta (Wrightsville, Pa./Prestige Gymnastics), Matthews and Elle Mueller (Ham Lake, Minn./Twin City Twisters). The team posted a 157.330 after three rotations to qualify to the Mixed Cup Bronze Final. After scores reset in the final rotation, the U.S. finished fourth with a 54.466.
